About Us
Roots Abacus & Mathematics (RAM) is a whole brain development program that lays a perfect and solid Mathematics foundation in young children.
RAM is a leading Abacus brain Development program. Our program aims to support the intellectual development of children during their formative years between the ages of 4 to 14 years. During this age, child brain development is fastest and our abacus program supports sharpening Brain power, concentration, visualisation power, retention, grasping, focus, and creativity. The program aims to enhance the learning ability of children to bring positive behavioural changes that are crucial in achieving overall excellence in their formative years.
Our Program
Abacus is an old Chinese instrument that uses beads to solve mathematical problems of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, square roots, percentages, bodmas sums, and fractions - whatever we can solve with a calculator can be solved with an Abacus instrument. As the child uses both hands to move Abacus beads, the brain is completely focused on one task to improve concentration.
The program can be learned at any age once the child understands addition and subtraction. The child is taken through the training using the Abacus instrument, using both hands to utilise full brain potential for holistic brain development using mathematics. This supports improvement in the child’s mental mathematics skills. We have interactive classes where children can enjoy and learn as well as demonstrate their capabilities to parents and friends. The program includes brain exercises (Brain Yoga), puzzle solving, speed writing, and dictation to help children gain focus and energise their brains.
Our Approach
Small group classes ensure child receives step-by-step instruction from a qualified and trained teacher. Roots research-based methods are proven to enhance the child’s math producing results and encouraging confidence. The program is scientifically constructed to bring out the child’s natural talent to learn and use these skills to excel in activities both inside and outside their school curriculum.
There is a personal touch, in every relationship that we nurture within our team. Even use of word “Team” sounds different to us. The more appropriate would be “Big Family” of Small friend and Big friend.
